Cryptography in the Database -- Kevin Kenan
6:30pm Tuesday, Oct 21st -- Eugene City Brewery (downstairs)

PCI compliance has made database encryption a hot topic in ecommerce.
If implemented correctly, encryption can add significant protection to
a database. Done incorrectly, though, encryption becomes an expensive
way to weaken database security. Kevin's talk will help you create
good, cost-effective database encryption solutions. Topics include
cryptographic algorithms, key management, and attacks on databases.

Kevin Kenan is an information security consultant based in Eugene.
He is the author of "Cryptography in the Database" and is the leader
of the Eugene chapter of the Open Web Application Security Project.
His consulting practice specializes in database encryption and
application security.
