I have been so pleased with the Lucid...that I got a laptop based on a comment of a successful 10.04 install in a Newegg review. Battery life aside, I had the ASUS Eee 1201T loaded with 10.04 in no time...and the wireless working after an update. For my purposes, 2 hours of battery is OK...I intend to use the Bluetooth, etc, so I haven't tried to tweak a Laptop Hypermiler. Hey! Everything works! Except the multi-touch and some function keys.
The Eee 1201T was a nice fit for me...better video card...bigger display. Shipped with no OS, this laptop sends the proper message "next stop! Ubuntu!" Also...I finally gave up on RAID 1 (though I did note a mention of RAID under the disk utility) and I'm working with Grsync...kbob, that utility you told me about five years ago, or so...
