Two note on this approach.
1. To change eth1 to eth0, edit the file
/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules .
2. In my experience, Ubuntu image move fairly easily between
different video cards. The standard installation includes all
the video drivers, and in most cases, the X server figures out
which one to load at run time. But then I'm careful to spec my
machines with X11-friendly video cards.
