DraftSight 2D CADD drafting program. http://www.3ds.com/products/draftsight/free-cad-software/ The collaborators of Solid Works, CATIA, (Dessault, et al) have introduced this low overhead (RAM/CPU) 2D drafting program. Lke AutoCAD Auto Sketch, way more industrial (real world) than Google SketchUp. No limitations and a open source support approach. FREE! Bear with my very, very, recent review and quickly saying this is a goodie, but I find it having plenty of power, with low overhead, Plus cross-platform file format transfer of .dwg, dxf, etc. Have not tried Linux version yet.
