Sorry, I should say **I** like the 4-5 amp charging. With some older and some newer batteries in the same string, I have found charging them slower helps them to finish charging at the same time and stay more balanced. If they were all the same (newer) I would be dumping 25 amps into them. Holding them at constant voltage for 24hr helps to equalize them. I have about 12 cycles on the new ones, about 60 cycles on the older ones. I had ~460 cycles on my previous pack of Hawkers, but had to replace them when they only had about 65% of their capacity when fully charged.
Hawkers are good batteries, but not all their dealers are reputable. I recently switched to a new dealer 'cause the old one tried charging failed batteries and sending them to me.
