Darin,

The Hawker 16ah batteries weren't designed for more than a 
600 amp draw. EV drag racers will draw 700-800 amps from them 
but for a very short time 8-10 sec. At any rate the most 
experienced racers don't let them get below 7.2V because 
as they age they will "pop" at around 7V.

But regarding your question about voltage sag. With the kind 
of currents you are drawing, a lead-acid battery of that size 
is going to sag pretty bad. Hawker and Optima batteries are 
the best choice for high amp, high power cyclic use. They are 
very stiff batteries, but what you are doing is abuse.  Too 
many 900 amp draws and your cycle life will reduce 
exponentially.  Keep up the good work! :-) and keep us 
informed of your results.

I like guys that want to draw 900 amps from 16ah Hawkers... 
kind of like John Wayland...and...
