Well, partially, at least. The resistor was the problem, Lee. That last
stripe on all of them was X1K, not X100. So I had 50K added to the coil
intead of 5k. I attached a 10K pot in place of the resistor, precharged,
then adjusted the pot down until the relay and second contactor pulled in.
Then I DROVE into the garage under power (insert extreme EV grin here)!

I even got some replacement cables made, got the charger roughly tuned in
and a few other things.

One serious note: The replacement cables were needed because while
installing the circuit breaker a while back, the front pack cables contacted
for a brief moment, and had a small "event." Burnt right through the lug on
one of them, and scattered copper all over the other. Kind of ironic that
it happened while installing an emergency shutoff device. Hope this can
serve as a warning to someone. My kids make fun of the gloves I wear to
work on batteries, but it doesn't discourage me from wearing them in the
least, especially when things like that happen.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for the continued encouragement. I look forward
to being fully back on the road soon.

I noted a lot of things during this rebuild that other solar electric owners
may like to know. When I'm done, I'll put the list up on a website. I'll
also try to get updated pictures for the EV album (gotta clean it first).
