I am happy that someone noticed. Rich Rudman and I ran around all day
putting watts into cars and barely got to run ourselves. I ran twice without
getting a charge before the run. When I got to charge it didn't take very
long to get the bulk charge done.

Twice I recorded the time and amps during the charge after a run:

Up to 5 minutes was 60 amps.
6 minutes was 44 amps
7 was 36
8 was 28
9 was 23
10.5 was 17.2
13 was 12.3
16 was 8.8
21 was 6.5
42 was 3.4 amps

The second charge was:
up to 6 minutes was 55 amps (the hot sun was causing the charger to cut
back)
6.5 minutes was 48.3 amps
9 minutes was 26.8 amps
11 minutes was 15.5 amps (and the emeter was back at zero Ahr)

The numbers are a little screwy because the car launches at 1000 amps and it
is only a 500 amp emeter. That is why the battery is not fully charged when
the emeter rolls over zero. I should have moved the tap on the shunt but I
wanted it to read real amps during the recharge.

Rich Rudman almost missed a run group because he had not recharged. He ran
anyway. My guess it that is was his sixth run of the day that was a half
second slower than the rest of them.

Only three people ran seven times that day: Rich Brown, Rich Rudman and me.

I think the track needs some 50 amp RV power pedestals in the camping area.
They could charge extra for those spaces and we could use them for charging
when we are at the track.
