Hi All:

I own a 93 Geo Metro Solectria.

I bought it with 11226.4 miles on it. I drove it several hundred miles
before needing a new set of batteries. I bought 12 55lbs group 27
Interstate marine batteries. I charged these batteries with the stock
Solectria BC1000 charger on a timer. I paid $56 each for the batteries.
These batteries are the same batteries as Sears and I believe make by
Johnson Controls. This set of batteries all died at about the same time,
with 3700 miles for a cost of $.191 per mile.

I replaced these batteries with Trojan SCS200 60lbs group 27 batteries. I
also replaced the charger with a Zivan NG3 set up for use on a 20amp 110
outlet. The charger starts at 1700w constant power. These batteries cost
me $82 each. I presently have 8060 miles on this set of batteries, with no
sign of degradation, for a present cost of $.123 per mile. I bought this
set on 5 Jan. 2002 and I have driven most days since.

About a year ago I was quoted $86 each for Trojan SCS225 by Bob Batson at
10+ volumes.

Mark.
