This is the beauty and value of putting on EV shows like this... besides being a lot of
fun and a chance for some full blown EV fellowship with good friends, more importantly,
it's our chance to counter and correct the misinformation from the mainstream press and
OPEC spin doctors. In my opinion, every EV club, group, or organization should make an
attempt to put on at least one show per year like the Gasless EVent, the Canadian
EVent,
or our own OEVA EVent.

Shameless plug for OEVA....we now have for sale, T-shirts that say 'It's not Electric,
if
you can't plug it in!' Contact either myself or Ralph Merwin if any EVers or hybrid
folks
want one. Yes, I said that right, hybrid folks....like me, there are many Insight and
Prius owners, totally turned off by both Honda's and Toyota's stupid mantra 'It charges
itself, you don't have to plug it in'. As a hybrid owner, I love wearing the shirt!
The
shirts are $15, and the money goes into the OEVA kitty to help get the fund ready for
next
year's EV Awareness Day's BBQ dinner!

Don't be too sure on this, Sheer. Our own, now famous 'Jackknife Johnson' got the EV
and
hybrid bug from coming to our 'EV Awareness Day', and afterwards, bought and restored
his
e-Datsun pickup, then he and Vera bought their Prius! I could go on to list many here
in
Portland who saw an EV at past shows, that also went on to build their own EV, buy a
hybrid, or both. These same folks later became contributing members of OEVA and now
help
put on the show.

It's a slow process, but one by one, folks are seeing the light, and as the numbers
grow,
EVs are getting harder to ignore.
Sheer deserves a special thank you for his efforts at the SEVA show, as he was
constantly
spreading the gospel, so much so, that I didn't get much of a chance to hang with him,
until the Red Robin dinner.

See Ya.......John Wayland
