Hmmm...are you running the small SVR batteries? Their internal 
resistance is too high and they heat up fast. If you're running
16ah (13.5 lb ea) Hawkers, I don't understand why they heat up
so fast. John Wayland runs those all day long with 250 amp dump
charging in between runs and they get hot but not 160 degrees
in three runs. 

People sometimes wonder how I can get a 3200lb car at only 144V
to do 14.67 in the 1/4 mile. Having two 8" motors helps, but the
big thing is really the two strings of 42ah Hawkers (800lbs) that
barely notice a 1/4 mile run and give a combined 1400 battery amps
out of the hole.

Dennis, the CE weighs lass than half what my Dualin'7 weighs. I bet
the right string (right size) of Hawkers would give you the consistant
12.0 second runs you want. Of course it's always a challenge to go faster.
