And you'll pay for it dearly.
It's the major drawback of most AC systems is the
need for so many costly cells.
Wouldn't it be better to use a system that
doesn't break the bank! Like Sep-Ex and a reasonable
battery voltage, charger, controller.
Or a lighter, more aero car so you didn't need so
much battery pack. An early RX-7 would be a lot
better for you amoung others.

Ni-cads have 2.5 times the usable power
density/weight ratio of of YT's so with them you would
go more than 2.5 times as far with ni-cads for the
same weight.
Ni-cads come in other sizes too like 60 ahr if you
don't need 30kw.
They will cost 1/2 of the evercells over an EV's
life.

Maybe in a couple of years they will but not now.
But if you were stuck with them it would be worse
than ni-cads, you can't claim both sides in the same
debate.
Plus ni-cads are proven over 70 years. There are
50 yr old ni-cads still putting out over spec!!!!

You could buy used ones. Or move them to a new EV.
And there is a market for used ones if you would ever
need to sell them. I haunt the battery shops waiting
like a vulture for used ones to come in.
A lot of industrial ones have, but their power/
weight ratio isn't good. Waiting for some SAFT
mono-blocks.
BTW, I'd say 20 years on the life of ni-cads in EV
service. My 27 year old units spent most of their life
sitting in a medical machine as UPS backup so were
little used probably until I started abusing them 2
years ago.

True!! Being able to charge them once a week
without harming them is nice too.
