7075 is an aircraft structural alloy.  It has high strength and hardness,
good
machineability.  It has poor weldability and poor resistance to corrosion.
I would be a bit concerned about its poor resistance to corrosion in your
application and wouldn't use it for that reason  6061 has excellent
resistance
to corrosion and is a good choice for your adapter plate.
