Brake system vacuum leaks.

The Gast vacuum pump now turns on every 8 to 9 or so minutes.  Up from 2
minutes.  I  put clamps at every junction.  Is this good enough or should it
be a perfect vacuum?  Like no pump on start up.  Pump only runs when
depressing brake pedal.  That sort of thing.  What should I expect?
