I also saw the ADC 11" in E-drive magazine, www.e-driveonline.com. This is a really cool magazine for people interested in a wide range of EV's. You may also want to check out Fuel Cell magazine, www.fuelcell-magazine.com Another good magazine that features some EV's is Industrial Vehicle Technology, http://www.ukintpress.com/ivt.html. They recently had an excellent article comparing AC vs DC systems. Unfortunately this article is not online, so I may have to scan it. They feature a Zapi system that is all AC induction (traction, pump, steering) on a forklift. Rod
[Sorry if this is a repeat, it hasn't come through since I sent it yesterday.] Browsing through my latest copy of e-Drive, I found a news release for the new ADC 11" motor: "The 11 inch wound field motor was specifically designed and targeted for heavy duty operation in the material handling lift truck market and the electric & utility vehicle market. "... The 11" inch motor is currently available as a 48 volt package, but plans to increase the voltage range to 78 volts and beyond are underway. "At 48 volts, the 11" motor is currently rated at 35 hp (26 kW) continuous duty rating and 130 hp (97 kW) intermittently. This new offering is produced to the Class "H" temperature rating and is UL approved." Competition for Kostov as the reigning "monster motor"? Chris
