The Kosty 11" is NOT the monster motor that we all thought it was. In
fact the AVDC 9 incher can take a LOT more Zorch. The 11 Kosty has
Interpoles, and has to have a larger case to fit them. It has very small
brushes since it does not need them in it's "Design level" of power. But
infact the interpoles get in the way of making massive power at over
aprox 800 amps. I can make mine sing with the Raptor 1200, but the
T-Rex-1000, just can't make the motor side amps the Fet Based Raptor
can.
So a 11 inch AvDC. I want one good for 120 and up...to say 240. The
Bigger comm will most likely support a higher voltage level before it
breaks down under acring.
I am sure sombody will have one of these as soon as it's available.
Wound field??? that sounds like a Sep-Ex to me. Also remember that a 48
volt motor will work in a 144 volt dragster, but not very well in a 156
volt street EV. You will need 2000 amps of 48 volts to make 130 Hp, or
more like 2200 to offset the losses. I am the only one who has made a
2500 amp 48 volt controller in this group.
Hint wait for the 72 volt and up one for Street Evs.
