I dont see it as "range", but usage, I have never gone the total distance that a set of batteries, no matter what type they are, to a set range, that would be foolish, ..you have 70 mile range, you go 71 miles and there you are, sitting where Moses lost his sandals, Now how you going to get back??
I live in a small town, all the EVs I have built for my self never go the total range, in fact I drive so little mileage I charge on the week ends, So, if all things considerer, a cycle is a charge/discharge, then by rights I only have to charge 52 times a year.. and in most cases thats all I do, Now if I have a liOn-P4 set of cells, and there only good for 600 cycles then I can use them for 12 years ! whos going to bitch about that.
