Hi... Audrey here, ( the other half of STEVE CLUNN)
I picked up a really nice 1967 Austin, MK1100.. Steve will tell you
that HE MADE me do the conversion... I will tell you he LET me do it
!!! Lots of FUN and we are still working on it.. Just added a new 172V
Lithium Pack !!
I have an 8" Advance DC motor ( the 9" Warp didn't fit).. One thing
you need to think about ... on some of these cars, the engine and
Tranny were build together. Because of this we could not use the
original Transmission, but Steve put in a 1986 Toyota Tercel Tranny.
Mine was a front wheel drive. Steve Cut the axels from the Toyota and
welded them to the axels that were IN the Austin, so they are Austin
on one end and Toyota on the other !...
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this little car !! It is so much fun to drive and
to show off at all the Cruise Night and Cars Shows. It handles real
well, I even completed one of my BUCKET LIST and DRAG Raced it at a
N.E.D.R.A. event here in Florida. I used a 500amp Soliton
Controller in Mine.. I just got a DC to DC.. IF you look on my web
page... under the TAB for PROJECTS.. go about half way down, and you
will see the start of the project. I lost a lot of pictures but
could send you some if you have any questions.
These little light cars are real "Gems" for converting.
Audrey
