They might. Then again, they might not. The trouble is that you don't know. It is dangerous to use without testing. Like my grandpa used to say; "Sounds like fun. You first."

The wire size used on these cheap Christmas lights is very small, and the insulation is flammable. A failed lamp might pass enough current to set the wire on fire. Would *you* risk your $20,000 EV on the reliability of a $2 string of Christmas lights?
