Certainly the BEV dan be designed to make the battery swappable, or to make it modular and adding another module for longer range becomes feasible simply putting the pack modules in a box below the cabin floor could be one solution but a retrofit to a model which never intended supplemental packs may be unreasonable (That and other details is what screwed "Better Place !" ) The key here is allowing range flexibility whether or not it is variable , may be a marketable premium detail.
