I've put off writing this for a while, because I don't want to offend
anyone.

Also, to be clear, I'm not singling out Ken here.

However, I think this is something that needs to be said.

Folks, you'll usually get a better response from other people - on the EVDL
or wherever - if you post a friendly message, with enough detail that people
can understand what you want.

I don't mean that it has to be overly chatty - just personable, even a
little conversational.

I think part of the problem here is that more and more people are now using
touchscreen gadgets. They're hard to type on, so their users tend to write
somewhat terse messages, and to make more typographical errors.

I'm sure Ken and the other folks who write this way are really nice people.
However, a clipped, unclear message doesn't give the reader such a great
impression about the writer. Some people might think, "If he can't take the
time to write a polite message, why should I take the time to answer?"

A little extra effort is usually rewarded with a better response.

This is just a suggestion, and I hope it's taken in the constructive way I
mean it.
