Plug-in Porsche? Fume-less Fiat? Test drive 'em Saturday.

[image] ... Thinking about an electric vehicle?
Test drives of plug-in vehicles are being offered at an educational event
designed to promote electric-drive technology as a cleaner alternative to
cars that burn only fossil fuel.
The event includes exotic new entries into the plug-in car market: the
Porsche Panamera [pih] and BMW i3 [EV].
There also will be standard-bearer EV models, like the luxury Tesla Model S,
Nissan Leaf [EVs], Chevy Volt, Ford C-Max Energi [pih] and more.
The event, dubbed "Electric Vehicle Day - San Diego," takes place Saturday
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Liberty Station (2401 Truxtun Road). It is free
and open to the public.
In order to test a vehicle you need to be at least 21. Bring a drivers
license and be ready to sign a waiver before you get behind the wheel.
If you already drive an EV, bring it along with you and put it on display in
a designated parking area.
Lots of information will be available about car-charging equipment,
government incentives and special electricity rates for electric vehicle
drivers. Main sponsors are the Center for Sustainable Energy, San Diego Gas
& Electric and CleanTech San Diego.
