Totally agree, Cor. Just my opinion. But if you have full throttle and not a "dial-in assist", you essentially have an e-scooter. Nothing wrong with the latter but it's no longer a bicycle if you don't have to pedal.

Willie,
persoanlly I hate the ebike setup that goes (often full throttle)
with any movement of the pedals - I want to be able to push as hard as I like and choose if I need assistance or not, so I usually unplug the PAS
if possible and use the throttle. But everyone is different and not
every bike is setup with all-or-nothing. My mom's eBike has a select
button that allows you to select whether and how much assisntace you get while pedaling so that is a good setup and I don't mind riding that bike
when I am visiting her,
I have taken it on 30 mile (one-way) trips, so 60 miles in a day.

 Willie,
did the old motor connect with 2 wires (red+ and black-)
or 3 wires (phases)? And the new motor?
I'll take a look tomorrow. I suppose a different number of wires means
changing the controller.

The new kit has the thing that can be used to require pedaling. "PAS", I

think. Since my hands/wrists don't like to keep the throttle held open,

I thinking of using the PAS. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
