I second Cor on finding a used engine out of a lower mile wreck.

I encouraged some friends to do just that when their 2010 Prius engine failed.
That story began with knocking (only some of the time and only when moderately
or heavily loaded) somewhere 170-180k. This was traced to a cracked spark plug,
which was replaced, but then the replacement also cracked after a short time.
Additional testing showed that coolant was leaking into at least one cylinder
(head gasket issue), and may have caused the cracked spark plugs.

It finally threw a rod through the block just after passing 200k.

Not sure why the engine developed the head gasket issue. I heard that the car
experienced a severe engine oil overfill around 150-160k.

Simultaneous with the above, the 12v battery was found to be weak after 6 years
of use. The car experienced other misc issues until that was replaced, leaving
only the engine issue.

It is back on the road again with a young 20k mile engine and new
brakes/rotors. The main pack and electric transaxle are still original.
