Keith, IMO do not bother with converting an AVCON to j1772. Why after you have modified it, it is no longer UL approved so if there is a fire, the insurer will opt to not pay out. If may be you do not know that an EV or pih charging capability is limited to its on-board charger. i.e.: if you plug a Volt pih or older leaf which only a 3kW on-board charger, into an EVSE that is higher than 3kW, that does not increase the charging rate nor decrease the charging time. It is still max'd out at 3kW (no higher).
