John,
The older packs have a different connector on the outside,
but on the inside of the pack it is the same (not all wiring - the
battery sense wiring *is* pinned out differently, even though the plugs
are the same! Beware!)

Luckily the pins are the same signals on both: CAN bus, ground, +12V and
the 3 relay coils (precharge and 2 main contactors)

I can send you the service docs or you can simply use the picture that I
uploaded to the US Electricar Yahoo group which should be open for
public viewing, since we are converting the trucks to run with Leaf
packs:

The pin 4 is +12V from ignition key switch,
pin 5 is permanent +12V battery connection
and pin 21 is +12V during charging.

Pins 6,7 and 8 are all ground and are shorted together inside the BMS
computer.
Let me know if you have any questions,

You can reach WolfTronix too at http://www.wolftronix.com/ - he's
working
on a board that allows DIY projects to make use of the build-in LEAF BMS
for aftermarket projects.

He also makes some cool animatronics stuff, which is how I found out
about
him in the first place ^-^

Nikki.
