As the fire was extinguished by a park employee, clouds of smoke overran that area. The blanket of smoke covered the children as they waited feet away from where the bumper car caught fire. Luckily, the driver of the bumper car that caught fire got out of the vehicle before the accident, according to the Charlotte Observer. Park employees conducted an inspection of the Dog’ems ride and determined that it was safe to resume.
