The Twike 5 may be the most effective people-powered vehicle since the
Flintstones car.

This revolutionary two seat electric vehicle features pedal generators for
the driver to charge up the engine on the go.

The car provides you with all the exercise benefits of a bike, while
travelling at speeds of up to 120mph.

It’s designed to allow drivers to exercise on their commute while covering
longer distances at higher speeds and staying protected from bad weather
conditions.

While it’s unlikely that your pedalling will be enough to fully charge the
vehicle, it will keep the battery topped up for longer. And the makers claim
that the vehicle has a battery range of 310 miles between charges.

What if your sharing the ride? Another set of pedals at the passenger’s side
adds a further power boost.

So how do you drive a pedal car without hitting your knees on the steering
wheel? Simple - it doesn’t have one. Instead a pair of push-pull levers
allow you to steer the vehicle.

The Twike has a waterproof, lockable cabin and a small boot at the back to
add further practical features that benefit it over an e-bike. Throughout
the EU it can be driven on a range of different car and motorcycle licenses,
depending on its power output.

For the top-range model with 120mph top speed and 310 mile range, it will
cost around €50,000. Lower power/battery models are also available with the
cheapest involving just the vehicle and no battery for €30,000 ...
