Nissan sold their stake in AESC, who makes the batts. 
China bought, and promptly took price from 4500 to 7k; more than what the car 
blue books for. 
2017 has a battery with lower longevity than prior models. 
RE: 80 mi range one-way:
Perhaps, if not flying down the fwy at 70; not using heat; have a warm 
insulated garage on a cold day, and not using AC. 

In other words, EVs, like gas burners are tested in the LA4 driving cycle, 
which is not at all like my SOOR1 driving cycle (southern OR winter, (38F at 65 
mph with AC/defrost on).
