I glued a 4.5” x 13” aluminum metal flashing plate behind the display to reflect the sun (with elephant snot AKA silicone rubber). That should stop blackouts in the summer. I did this on the back of our flat TV that failed due to heat, 2nd TV with reflective Mylar stays cool (in the window south facing).
