I don't know that you could quantify that, but here are some data that might
be worth looking at.

It appears that the only global market surveyed in which Tesla's reputation
improved between 2023 and 2024 was China.

A Bloomberg piece from last summer reports on a survey of long-term Model 3
owners. Most of them still love their Teslas - the Tesla boss, not so much.

analysis/

Tesla brand loyalty is still very strong, but a few owners from an earlier
survey have left the Tesla fold. The reasons they gave for switching to
other brands are interesting. The top 3 reasons:

21.5% Disapproval of Elon Musk
18.7% Concerns about quality or service
17.8% Unhappy with Tesla's brand perception

It's tempting to lump #1 and #3 together because Musk pretty much IS Tesla.

However, maybe #3 would also include the grumbling I hear now and then about
"Tesla Drivers," spoken in the same tone of voice people used to use for
"BMW Drivers."

So while I think your question is tough to answer, it seems to me that if
Musk would cut out the Twitter s***posting, and generally keep a lower
public profile - like most other auto execs do - Tesla might grow faster and
have a better reputation. I'll bet that many Tesla stockholders would
prefer that.

But it'll never happen. Musk can't do it. He's addicted to attention,
admiration, and adulation.
