Thanks, this was very helpful, I know an American who is moving there
and they have been a bit interested in EV information.

Top seller by a long way was the new Renault 5, which echoes the shape of
the original R5. You might remember the R5 as Le Car or Lectric Leopard if
you're close to my age.
They're painting them bright colors - eye-catching nearly-fluorescent orange
and green, for example. It reminds me of similarly striking 1975-76 US VW
Rabbit colors.
I haven't driven an R5 yet, but our nearby large Renault dealer seems to
have a different one on the front lot, in the "look at me" spot, every time
I go by. The smaller Renault dealer, which hasn't previously stocked many
EVs - their owner is quite old-school - is using one as their service car.
Second place (47% fewer than R5) went to the BMW IX1, and in third place
(52% fewer than R5) was the Tesla Y.
Full list:
Renault 5
BMW IX1
Tesla Y
Renault Scenic E-tech
VW ID3
Skoda Elroc
Citroen E-C3
Renault Megane E-tech
Peugeot E-208
Dacia Spring
Audi Q4 E-tron
Renault 4
VW ID4
Kia EV3
BMW IX2
Peugeot E-3008
Hyundai Inster
Tesla 3
Audi Q6 E-tron
Hyundai Kona
I'm a bit surprised that the Fiat Grand Panda - a more stylish and slightly
more expensive version of the Citroen E-C3 - didn't make the list. A friend
of mine recently got one and really likes it so far.
Of these, I think that only the Teslas, the Audis, the VW ID4, and the
Hyundai Kona are offered in the US. The Kia EV3 may be soon.
The BYD Dolphin Surf is just starting to arrive at dealers here. It's been
selling well in other EU countries, however. It won't qualify for France's
eco bonus, but that's shrunk significantly with recent budget cuts, so
that's not likely to hurt it very much.
If you re-sort the above list by corporations (without adding other models
not on the list), in the top 5 spots you get
Renault/Dacia
VW/Audi/Skoda
BMW
Stellantis
Tesla
It's almost like having EVs in multiple size, shape, and price classes
increases a corporation's total EV sales. Funny, that.
