Yes, Tesla can re-learn the sensors DIY. It looks at the wheel rotation of each wheel as you take turns, and can eventually figure out which sensor is where. Batteries usually last about 10 years, so it would be unusual for one to die in less than 5 years. Water in the wheel or fix-a-flat type products can cause them to fail, but first try the re-learn procedure in the service tab of the car menu. It may take up to 20 miles depending on where you drive and at what speeds.
