Is your friend trying to get true fast charging rate out of it, or a fairly slow rate just without inverting to AC to feed to a standard EVSE?
Unknown if any available DCFC equipment can run directly from a DC source (and what voltage would be required). With that said, it would be spending a crap ton of money in order to save some conversion loss.
