The Konsortium Pusat Sumber Sekolah Kebangsaan (KPSSK) has been successfully registered with the Malaysia Registrar of Societies (RoS) as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) under the category of Social – Education. Our official registration ID is PPM-002-14-16012026, with the registration confirmed on 16 January 2026. KPSSK was established in 2022, starting with a small group of School Resource Centres in Malaysia that were keen to adopt open-source Integrated Library Systems due to budget constraints and the need for sustainable, community-driven solutions. Evergreen ILS became a key platform supporting this shared vision. In 2025, we initiated the process to register KPSSK under the Registrar of Societies to enable the consortium to formally seek funding and grants, strengthen governance, and further support our objectives in advancing library automation and digital equity in schools. The registration process took longer than expected due to internal administrative matters; however, we are pleased to confirm that it has now been successfully completed. As of today, KPSSK supports more than 17 School Resource Centres across Malaysia, all aligned with the same objective of leveraging open-source systems; particularly Evergreen ILS to enhance access, efficiency, and sustainability in school libraries. With our official NGO status, we are confident that KPSSK will continue to grow and extend its support to more schools nationwide. We look forward to further collaboration with the Evergreen ILS community and hope to expand the adoption and contribution of Evergreen ILS within Malaysian School Resource Centres in the years ahead.
