Subject: [Evergreen-general] Re: Angular Circ bug 2138969

For anyone interested here is our angular circ testing spreadsheet from testing
in 3.14.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1afHRDc12m1rIBfiZql81aF5YRXtQnEa6Bs1bcwRQBQM/edit?usp=sharing

It includes four types of changes - New Features, Enhancement, Regression, and
Bug. We were trying to capture all the changes between angularjs and angular
and categorize them. (For some changes there may be debate about whether the
change is an enhancements versus a regression.)

We've reported some of the bugs and regressions but haven't had time to report
them all and are now retesting in 3.16 to confirm which bugs/regressions are
still present.

Hi Kathy,

I took a look on our 3.16.3ish test server running our own data and I can't
reproduce the bills bug. (I've commented on the bug report.) I can reproduce
it on Terran's bugsquash server.

It may not be related but it reminds me of another major angular circ issue
that behaves differently between fresh concerto installs and existing installs
- the ability to create new patrons and edit existing ones
https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/2081327. I think this bug is the #1
blocker to using angular circ.

We did some pretty extensive testing of the experimental circ in 3.14 a few
months ago and are working on retesting in 3.16 right now. We've reported the
bugs we consider circ blockers but haven't had time to report all the
regressions we found. I can share out a copy of our tracking spreadsheet later
today.

Subject: [Evergreen-general] Angular Circ bug 2138969

Hi all and Happy Bug Squashing Week!

I haven't seen an official announcement about this on the general mailing list
yet, but my understanding is that the developers are shooting for a 4.0 release
in the fall that will include making Angular circ the standard UI without
absolutely requiring it.

In order to help move that milestone forward, we at NOBLE are planning to work
with library staff to test the experimental angular circ interface to determine
if there are any undiscovered bugs / missing features that will be uncovered
with our own mix of settings and data used by our libraries. We've had several
staff people at our member libraries volunteer to perform this testing, and
we're excited to move forward with this project.

Unfortunately, there is a stumbling block to testing the bills interface on a
patron record due to bug
2138969<https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/2138969>. Since it is bug
squashing week, I'm hoping somebody might have time to take a look at the bug
so that we can restore the ability to retrieve the patron bills screen.

Thanks all! I hope it's an easy fix!

Kathy
