I wouldn't judge Seth's paper without having read it because he's a very smart guy. But this popular article is wrong when it says, "In the new story of the arrow of time, it is the loss of information through quantum entanglement, rather than a subjective lack of human knowledge, that drives a cup of coffee into equilibrium with the surrounding room." Sure, there's loss of information through entanglement and that makes the process irreversible FAPP; but what makes the coffee equilibrate, i.e. cool to room temperature, is the loss of *energy* to the surroundings.

I like the idea, but am two naive in theoretical physics to have an informed opinion. Would more knowledgable people care to comment?

At first sight, this seems very much inline with Bruno's ideas.

Best,
