I was aware he was no longer the richest person in China, but hadn't realised he'd fallen quite so far! I left UNSW in 2005, and my very close friend who did her PhD under Martin Green, then later had a career in wind energy, rather than photovoltaics, died in 2009 from breast cancer. It must have been an empire built on debt, which basically applies to all empires come to think of it; once it began unravelling the corporate implosion could not be stopped. For a while there Zhengrong Shi was riding high... so close to the sun, but now, like Icarus, his wings have melted and the soaring figure is falling fast back down to earth. Cheers, Chris P.S.
