You do know the concept of asymmetrical warfare? I didn't say you have to agree with it, but please, acknowledge that historically its a strategy that has legs. So dismissing a few thousand fighters as a zero threat is insane. It would be insane if we ignore a re-purposed jihad against the US. The total war concept is one possibility, as a response, that should never be take off the table, as a once and for all, threat removal. There are other, nuanced, ways that are more clever, that might actually work in our favor, but counting on this, for ideological reasons, is also insane. I line up behind total war as a possibility because I don't want the world to sink into a dark age, which the Islamists would likely bring. It would only be a dark age for us and not Russia, and not China. There are people who never side with the US on any mil action. If you want to supply a military action, shooting, and all that, that you do support, feel free to supply that data, for a more, clear, discussion.
