It seems we'll have a visiting researcher staying with us next academic year...

Hello Francis, I've discussed with my department the potential for me to come to Brussels in October and working with you and your ECCO group.
First off, I've read about your ECCO work on the web and you people seem to be in line with exactly the kind of work I want to do for my dissertation. I feel my experience with Hutchins at UCSD and the Distributued Cognition lab as well as my skills in software engineering will likewise provide you with the mindpower to support any simulations or system development you may have in mind. With that, I hope my visit will provide me a fruitful insight into a solid dissertation topic--I'm sure you can point me in the right direction.
Second, the department would appreciate it if you were a committee member on my disseration as no one is directly involved with this type of work (ever since Craig Kaplan left the department).
Thirdly, they agreed to continue my GAANN funding as they believe that this will be a good experience for me as well as an opportunity to bring relations between our seperate universities.
