Been thinking about our release schedule after 3.12.0, when we break with GNOME and embark on our own annual development/support cycle.
I'd like to release updates at a more predictable cadence than GNOME. With the GNOME 3.12.0 and 3.12.1 release dates in mind, I propose the following: - Release stable updates on the 2nd Monday of each month. - Release development updates on the 4th Monday of each month. Our release schedule for 3.12 / 3.13 would then be: Mar 24 - Evolution 3.12.0 (same as GNOME 3.12.0) Apr 14 - Evolution 3.12.1 (same as GNOME 3.12.1) Apr 28 - Evolution 3.13.1 May 12 - Evolution 3.12.2 May 26 - Evolution 3.13.2 Jun 09 - Evolution 3.12.3 Jun 23 - Evolution 3.13.3 Jul 14 - Evolution 3.12.4 Jul 28 - Evolution 3.13.4 Aug 11 - Evolution 3.12.5 Aug 25 - Evolution 3.13.5 Sep 08 - Evolution 3.12.6 Sep 22 - Evolution 3.13.6 Oct 13 - Evolution 3.12.7 Oct 27 - Evolution 3.13.7 Nov 10 - Evolution 3.12.8 Nov 24 - Evolution 3.13.8 Dec 08 - Evolution 3.12.9 Dec 22 - Evolution 3.13.9 Jan 12 - Evolution 3.12.10 Jan 26 - Evolution 3.13.10 -------------------------------------------------------- At this point we synchronize with GNOME 3.16's schedule. The following assumes it repeats the same as this year. -------------------------------------------------------- Feb 09 - Evolution 3.12.11 (one last update, if needed) Feb 16 - Evolution 3.13.90 (same as GNOME 3.15.90) Mar 02 - Evolution 3.13.91 (same as GNOME 3.15.91) Mar 16 - Evolution 3.13.92 (same as GNOME 3.15.92) Mar 23 - Evolution 3.14.0 (same as GNOME 3.16.0) I think that spaces our releases reasonably well before and after syncing with GNOME. Opinions?
