I'm about the commit my big importer changes to the HEAD branch.
These changes change the way that the intelligent importers are done,
they are now seperate programs that don't need to be linked into the
mailer (which allows them to do other importing things like addressbook
stuff).

The things that work are
Netscape Importer:
Imports mail, and accounts. If you don't have accounts set up in
Evolution then you'll want to select this, if you've already got your
mailer set up, then you probably don't want accounts imported, then
deselect the "Settings" check box in the dialog.
Pine Importer:
Imports mail and addressbook entries.
Due to Evolution not handling distribution lists yet, any distribution
list found in the Pine .addressbook file will just be ignored.
Elm Importer:
Imports mail.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now for the fun bits.
Because pretty much all the oaf files and things got renamed, moved and
generally changed, you may need to remove some files after you install
HEAD.
The files that need to be removed are
$(prefix)/lib/evolution/evolution-mail-importers/0.10/libiipine.*
$(prefix)/lib/evolution/evolution-mail-importers/0.10/libiielm.*
$(prefix)/lib/evolution/evolution-mail-importers/0.10/libiinetscape.*
$(prefix)/share/oaf/GNOME_Evolution_Mail_Elm_Intelligent_Importer.oaf
$(prefix)/share/oaf/GNOME_Evolution_Mail_Netscape_Intelligent_Importer.oaf
$(prefix)/share/oaf/GNOME_Evolution_Mail_Pine_Intelligent_Importer.oaf
$(prefix)/share/oaf/GNOME_Evolution_Addressbook_GnomeCard_Importer.oaf
Also the new importers won't respect your previous settings, so if you
had clicked "Don't tell me again" then you'll have to do it again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The changes are now in cvs HEAD, anoncvs will probably be updated
soonish.
