Yeah, I need to add a check for libdb-3.1.a. Sorry that's not there
yet. Would you be willing to test it if I do?

You don't need to build the dynamic versions to get evolution to use it.
Evolution only requires the static libraries. And since you can just
install into any prefix and point evolution there, there's no reason to
build the dynamic versions.
