Hmm, not really.  Maybe try make distclean, and remove any installed headers and libraries first before rebuilding.

You also might want to consider building 1.5, 2.0 should be out soon, 1.5 is very stable (well mail is).

I fixed that issue by doing a make clean and the reconfiguring. Now, however, 
I get a relocation error:
(evolution:10924): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: g_object_set_valist: construct 
property "type" for object `ESplash' can't be set after construction

evolution: relocation 
error: /usr/lib/evolution/1.4/components/libevolution-addressbook.so: 
undefined symbol: e_book_get_config_database

Any ideas?
