Every other time, once we hit *feature freeze* (i.e. 2 months ago), we went into patch review mode. Where *every* patch needed to have at least one other reviewer look at the patch, on the patch list.
No new features were added at all, and we were just fixing bugs. Without this we coulnd't get all the bugs ironed out and it generally lead to a pretty shoddy 'dot-o' release. UI freeze (a few days ago) wasn't the cut off point for 'the last ui centric feature' it was the last point where any ui changes could be made, like spacing or minor fiddly stuff like that. Hard code freeze is somewhat different. In that we can't put *any* code in without a review from the *gnome* release team. And is really only used for very small patches fixing critical problems.
