Hi Chenthill,

Thanks for your reply. At the moment, I am at the previous version, as I
haven't had an opportunity to re-apply to the failing version.

However, I am still having an issue - as I mentioned, I went by two
versions via synaptic. I then moved up to the next version released for
SuSE (evolution-2.4.0-3.2) via YaST, as this had been the working
version before the one which gave me issues. Now the fun part - this
version fails with "illegal instruction". As i had run before, I got
suspicious and created a test user, under which it ran fine. I then
thought of running GNOME with my own ID (I normally use KDE) and, lo and
behold, Evo also runs fine here (as does Firefox, which is also failing
under KDE, with a seg fault).

Now, as far as I understand it, running Evo under either environment
uses the same .gconf and .evolution settings - is this not so?

I'd therefore be grateful if anyone here could shed some light on why it
works under GNOME, but blows out when run in a KDE environment (not, I
renamed my .kde/share directory to force default settings, by Evo still
failed with the same problem).

Regards,

Des
