Actually it was something much simpler: under Receiving Options select
Show Only Subscribed Folders. Doh :-)
OT:
In my defense, I've been having huge problems with Evo and Gmail over
the last several weeks, to the point I had almost given up using Evo at
all since both Claws and Thunderbird worked perfectly on the same
account. This seems to have been resolved after completely removing
every trace of Evo config information from my home directory and
basically doing it over again. In fact right now I still have the
automatic new message check turned off for the Gmail account, since I'm
suspicious of what might happen if synching a very large folder (of
which I have several) hasn't finished before the next update starts.
