I'd suggest transferring your data to some 3rd party IMAP/CalDAV/CardDAV service, be that Google or your own locally installed servers. Then you can transfer the data back to Evolution 2.x or any client really (or you could just leave the data on the server permanently and not be chained to a particular client).
