Happy New Year!
Sometimes distros even don't provide bug fixes and even not security
upgrades, see the policy for the official Ubuntu "universe" repository,
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories#Universe .

Other distros OTOH stay as close as possible with upstream:

$ lsb_release -dr
Description:    Arch Linux
Release:        rolling

Support for software provided by release model distros, has to be done
by the release model distro, not by upstream.

Regards,
Ralf
