Yes.

More recent versions of Evolution uses CardDav and not the Contacts
API. It's not perfect, but you don't get the warnings.

Depending on your distro you might be able to get a more recent version
by upgrading, but it is likely you will be pointed towards the Flatpak
version.  Using those versions come with caveats, but my impression is
that they are improving. (Not that I use them, my distro keeps up to
date with such things.)
